TARA DEBOER, PhD
CO-FOUNDER and CTO
Dr. deBoer received her PhD from the University of California, Santa Cruz in June of 2015. Her thesis work focused on the synthesis of metal-based therapeutics and the design of modular systems to explore the biochemistry of reactive nitrogen and oxygen species. After receiving her doctorate degree she began her postdoctoral work in Prof. Niren Murthy’s group where she currently works on applied projects aimed at developing diagnostic options capable of detecting antibacterial resistance and designing innovative tools that can be utilized to explore the cleavage activity of one of the CRISPR-associated proteins Cas9.
CO-FOUNDER and CEO
Dr. Palomino’s interest in molecular diagnostic systems was sparked while working towards her biochemistry undergraduate degree at Cal Poly. Her first research project was in Prof. Chad Immoos’ lab developing an immunoassay for melanoma detection. Dr. Palomino continued her education at the University of California, Santa Cruz and received her PhD in August 2014. Her graduate work in Prof. Scott Oliver’s group focused on developing inorganic materials for a variety of applications including antibiotic delivery and pollution remediation. Outside of research, Dr. Palomino has held product management positions in the analytical instrumentation and semiconductor industries.
